Ronald Crisp's military skills and ruthless nature are tasked to the extreme by a planet whose inhabitants are "dying" to tear him to pieces. A cutting-edge departure from standard zombie fare, "Resurrection Planet" plunges the reader over--and under--a savage planet where nothing stays dead...for long.

Resurrection Planet Dead Armies Arise eBook Lucas Cole

A fresh look at zombies in which a virus in the soil of a mining planet can bring the dead back to life.

Unlike most books in this genre, not all the zombies are bad nor do they lack intelligence. The protagonist, Major Ron Crisp, is more anti-hero than hero. He comes to the planet with orders to takeover and increase mining production in exchange for which, he will be given the planet but not mineral rights. On finding a plant that can briefly return the zombies to a lucid state he arms them to take over the mines. He has a botanist begin work on a longer lasting dose or cure although he intends to withhold the cure to get more work out of those in a zombie state.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and hope Mr Cole plans to revisit the planet Sybaris in the future.

Resurrection Planet Dead Armies Arise eBook Lucas Cole Reviews

A rather dry little tale, with barely any likable characters, and zombies that weren't very well fleshed out.
I really enjoyed this. As a zombie fan and sci-fi buff this story appealed to me, though I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Author did a good job on developing the main character. I'll be on the lookout for more from him.
LC has written a novel of the future where humans turn cannibal. One man survives and is looking for additional survivors. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER
I'll have to say that I am a big zombie fan. This, however, is not a zombie book. That being said, it was a very touching usage of the (possible) undead with feelings. The usage of the "dead" in this case, I felt, was more of a sidebar to the actual story line. I actually became attached to some of the deadheads in the book, as the main character did also. I'll look forward to the sequel!
This is only *loosely* a zombie book, in as much as there are flesh eating rotting people. That said the other bits that contradict the usual scenarios are a bit spoilerish, so I won't include them here.

It read pretty quickly, but the plot twists were a bit obvious. Still, it moved along and engaged enough for a decent airplane read.
Just a thoroughly good read.. Well placed, good character development, humorous in places , short chapters made it easy to read for 5-10mins, entertaining..
Not a tradition zombie book, but does fit within the zombie genre I guess. Off wold mutants virus that hits recently dead, but also lives to some extent in all? most? of the people living on this desert planet according to the professor.
The book was well enough written, but I felt I had stumbled into the middle of a serial novels and had some how missed the earlier books in the series. My biggest problem is that everyone (and I mean almost all of the people) were so dis-likable with the exception of the 'blue' mutants. Guess this left it open for a follow up book, and I guess I'll pass if there is one.
